Making International Connections: From Chile to Vermont

On September 25th, 2018, Andrea Onetto began her four week fellowship with PT360 and she came all the way from Chile!  Andrea is a physical therapist in her home country of Chile, where she has completed her schooling and opened her own private practice a few years ago at a young age.  She applied through a program called Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) which brings 250 entrepreneurs from Latin America and Caribbean that are spread all throughout the United States.  Meridian Internal Center is the nonprofit organization that implements this program on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.  Needless to stay, we are privileged that PT360 was selected to be her host!

Both Andrea and PT360 will benefit from this experience.  Andrea will be able to network and make connections in the United States and with fellow entrepreneurs and even has the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. and speak with investors.  At PT360, she will learn the workings of an employee-owned cooperative, which is an uncommon model in Chile, and decide what is best for her business.  While she is in Vermont, she will have the opportunity to observe with PT360 therapists with our specialized treatments including Lyme Disease treatment, chronic pain treatment, orthotic fittings, health coaching, and yoga, aquatic, & pilates classes.  She will also be able to meet with our CEO and learn strategies for networking, marketing, and managing; she will also visit other community programs to see what they provide and insight different business models.  Andrea will bring great perspective and insight into her own experiences as well as implement programs into PT360 that could benefit our growing business as well.

Andrea is a fun-loving, energetic, smart physical therapist and we are so lucky to have her with PT360, expanding both of our horizons and learning from this hands-on experience.
