JonQ graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Vermont. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Movement Science from UVM. JonQ is interested in how the nervous system can contribute to pain - specifically, the sensitization of the peripheral nervous system and the brain’s influence on pain. He treats patients from a biopsychosocial pain science perspective, integrating not only physical injury and physiology into clinical decision making, but also relevant psychological and social factors. JonQ is particularly interested in treating chronic pain, neuropathic pain, and the pain that no one can seem to figure out. In addition to his interests in pain, JonQ has trained to help rehabilitate patients with concussion and vestibular disorders such as vertigo. He believes patient education is critical to improving outcomes and is committed to working cooperatively with patients to craft a plan of care specific to their needs.
Outside of work, JonQ is an active member in his church. He enjoys spending time his wonderful wife and children, as well as fishing, woodworking, and sampling Vermont’s vast selection of great craft beers.
