JonQ Choi, DPT
JonQ graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Vermont. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Movement Science from UVM. JonQ is interested in how the nervous system can contribute to pain; specifically, the sensitization of the peripheral nervous system and the brain’s influence on pain. He treats patients from a biopsychosocial pain science perspective, integrating not only physical injury into clinical decision making, but also relevant psychological and social factors. JonQ is particularly interested in treating non-specific/lingering pain, chronic pain, neuropathic pain, and the pain that no one can seem to figure out. He believes patient education is critical to improving outcomes and is committed to working cooperatively with patients in order to craft a plan of care specific to their needs.
Outside of work, JonQ is an active member in his church. He enjoys spending time his wonderful wife, Heather, as well as fishing, woodworking, and sampling Vermont’s vast selection of great craft beers.
